Bringing Innovation to the Competition: Clip-Lok SimPak for Hyperloop UPV
Innovative products need more than great engineering—they also need to reach their destination safely.
When Hyperloop UPV needed to transport its fully assembled Hyperloop vehicle from Valencia, Spain, to Veendam in the Netherlands for an international student competition, Clip-Lok SimPak supplied a customised transport solution designed to ensure safe and stable transport of the prototype throughout the journey.

The Packaging Challenge
Hyperloop UPV needed to transport a fully assembled prototype measuring 2.5 m long, 1.3 m wide, and 1.0 m high.
The vehicle itself was robust, but transport by truck meant it had to be securely fixed inside the packaging to prevent movement caused by road vibrations. The Hyperloop UPV team also wanted a reusable packaging solution that could be used for future competitions, while being quick to assemble and easy to handle.
The Packaging Solution for Sensitive Prototypes
Clip-Lok SimPak designed and manufactured a customised reusable transport case built specifically for the Hyperloop vehicle.
The wooden crate was designed to fit the vehicle precisely, providing secure protection during transport. To improve stability inside the truck, five integrated strapping bands were added, allowing the hyperloop vehicle to be tightly secured and reducing the risk of movement during the journey.
Using the QIK Clips® fastening system, the wooden crate can be assembled and opened quickly without screws or loose hardware. This system allows one person to prepare the case for transport or unpack it at the competition site in just a few minutes.

The packaging solution by Clip-Lok SimPak not only protected the vehicle on its journey to the competition but can also be used for future events, reducing waste and supporting a more sustainable approach to transportation.
