Patents and/or trade marks are now registered or pending in more than 70 countries.
Clip-Lok is now firmly established in Europe, America, Asia Middle East & Africa.
All of us have an obligation to protect the environment. Global concerns about waste disposal and landfill sites are increasing; reusable packaging is becoming the prime packaging objective of world governments and responsible corporations. At Clip-Lok we take our responsibility towards a better and greener future seriously.
Research made by the independent consultancy company Ramböll shows that the environmental impact of reusable Clip-Lok boxes from cradle to grave is less than that of comparative one-way packaging.
By using Clip-Lok returnable boxes in your supply chain, you take responsibility and help bring about a greener society without compromising your standards.
However, as one way packaging is also an important part of our business we have ensured that all components of our one way packaging our recyclable. Thereby, reducing our carbon footprint and moving towards a greener future.
We are committed to leadership in sustainability
We provide products and processes that meet the highest standards. We are committed to the safety and health of our employees, the protection of the environment and the quality of life in the communities in which we operate.
We take a long-term, entrepreneurial approach toward all elements of sustainability, aiming not just to comply with existing standards but also to set new ones. Clip-Lok has always strived to create a balance between people, planet and profit. This approach lends us a clear competitive advantage and helps us achieve our full business potential.
Our packaging is compliant with ISPM15 international phytosanitary regulations. ISPM stands for International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures, and standard number 15 includes guidelines for regulating wood packaging in international trade. Processed wood such as plywood is not considered a phytosanitary problem according to this standard and therefore needs no treatment. Any soft wood dunnage we use complies with ISPM 15 standards.
We measure sustainability practices to minimize energy consumption and reduce waste in our operations. Clip-Lok products can be recycled and reprocessed at the end of their useful life.
Clip-Lok is dedicated to protecting the environment by designing and manufacturing environmentally friendly plywood crates. We support a greener world; therefore we have chosen suppliers of wood materials that are certified by FSC and PEFC and we use recyclable materials in a manner that minimises waste and avoids emissions of materials that may harm the environment.
Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified. In this way consumers know that they come from forests managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations. The aims of FCS and PEFCs are to ensure that the world’s forests are managed sustainably and that their functions are protected.
Frequently asked questions
Yes, Clip-Lok boxes are approved to ship worldwide.
This is dependent on which specification and the contract interpretation. Our boxes can meet and often exceed strength & durability tests in those specifications. However, if the specification includes ‘x’ amount of nails in the crates, our advanced nail free crating system does not conform.
At Clip-Lok there is no MOQ. However, due to the nature of our production process, quantities above 15 per shipment are where we really excel and can help reduce our customers’ costs!
We work on a flexible order system, however to quantify, two weeks is an average upon order placement. Your customer service representative will confirm your shipping dates upon order placement and can work with you to potentially meet any earlier requirements.
Our boxes can be made in plywood and OSB. Thicknesses of wood vary per customer requirement.
OSB stands for oriented strand board. OSB is made, basically, in the same way as plywood. Instead of using large sheets of solid wood veneer, thousands of 3 and 4 inch long strands of solid wood are combined to make each sheet of OSB. Each strand of wood is completely coated with high performance resin glue.
This is dependent on the closing system. In general, Clip-Lok QIK Clip Plastic can be re-used 2-5 times, the returnable shipping containers can used more than 100 times and our Spring Steel Clips have a lifetime warranty.
Clip-Lok offers testing in different forms. ASTM testing can be fulfilled through internationally accredited institutes, or 3rd party testing should local physical testing be required.
