Clip-Lok PackTrack

RFID

RFID stands for Radio-Frequency IDentification. It refers to small electronic devices that consist of a small chip and an antenna. The chip typically carries up to 2,000 bytes of data.

This type of packaging tracking system stores a serial number, which identifies an object and other information on a microchip, and is attached to an antenna. Together it is called an RFID tag. The chip via the antenna transmits the identification information to a reader. The radio waves reflected from the tag are converted into digital information. This information is available on computers for analysts.

Clip-Lok can customise our boxes to add RFID tags for you. Currently, it is the most modern tracking system available on the market.

RFID technology has been available for more than fifty years. However, due to the lack of industry standards, it has taken so long to come into common use. Most companies invested in this packaging tracking technology only use it to track items within their control. Customers while using the returnable solutions find RFID beneficial. For example, goods transported from company to company or from country to country.
